Scripture to consider in preparing for the future, compiled by Randy Alcorn.

People of the world don’t need our reassurance that America is unshakable, that democracy will prevail, that our economy will recover, that death and suffering will not touch them, or that America or any country is a safe place to live. 

As Christians called to “seek justice [and] rescue the oppressed” (Isaiah 1:17), we must respond to the evil of modern-day slavery.

However, not all of those funds will be used wisely, and some will end up being used corruptly. That comes with the territory. The solution is not to give less, but to give carefully.

The present Heaven is completely different than what Catholics believe in as purgatory, as it has nothing to do with punishment or suffering.

The Purity Principle is this: Purity is always smart; impurity is always stupid.

Marriage may not change in God’s sight, but it does in man’s. Those who wonder what the family values debate is about can find out by looking at different editions of Webster’s Dictionary.

It’s common to hear people say, “We don’t understand now, but in Heaven we’ll know everything.” One writer says that people in Heaven can “easily comprehend divine mysteries. Is this true? Will we really know everything in Heaven?

This is election season, but so is every season of our lives. Voting isn’t something you do every four years, or twice a year. We cast multiple votes each day.

I was able to read a portion of your book Tell Me About Heaven to my Kindergarten class this week, the morning before a boy from our school died from Leukemia. God used your ministry in perfect timing to help them understand that the young man is in a better place, in the presence of God. — T. H.

Of the many books that I read through each year, perhaps none have been more influential than Heaven, by Randy Alcorn. It is an amazing work that answers numerous questions on the topic of the afterlife. 

Can we really know in advance where we’re going when we die? The apostle John, the same one who wrote about the new heavens and New Earth, said in one of his letters, “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life” (1 John 5:13, emphasis added). 

This little booklet is fantastic and such a comfort in time of grief. The first one I had was given to me at the time of my husband’s death. I used it like a daily devotional.

The Bible actually has quite a lot to say about Heaven. Randy Alcorn’s 50 Days of Heaven presents us with an easy but profound read that takes away much of the mystery about life after death.
