Wayne Grudem in his "Systematic Theology" wonders why so many Christians insist on understanding the descriptions of Heaven symbolically. So why would it be wrong to do those things in the life to come? Will we spend every moment in Heaven worshiping God on our knees? Paradise did not end when Jesus ascended to the Father; rather He relocated Paradise to the present Heaven. Paradise is where the tree of life now is. See Revelation 2:7, which says: "To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the Paradise of God.”

In the Elephant Room 1 DVD, in session 6, somewhere around 10 minutes into it, MacDonald mentions Piper, Chan and me. Then around 13 minutes in he mentions me by name and says I’ve developed a theology based on my legal situation, which requires me to “have nothing.”

Question from a reader: If the penalty of sin is eternal conscious physical torment, wouldn’t Christ have to still be suffering today in order to pay the debt?
