It helps to remember the genre of Ecclesiastes (wisdom literature) and the author’s purpose in writing (to show the futility of seeking happiness in worldly things; of living with a perspective limited to only this present life). 

In this clip from his Q&A with Baylor University, Randy shares about his wife Nanci going to be with Jesus, grieving well, and biblical lessons learned in loss, as well as getting back to speaking and writing. 

Writing about Nanci’s life, my grief, and our blood-bought hope in Christ has been therapeutic for me. I’ve often wished for a single page where what I’ve written is listed in one place, to share with those who ask questions and want to know Nanci’s story.

Randy speaks about Heaven, which will one day be forever located on the New Earth. God’s Word promises us what we can look forward to for eternity: a permanent renewal of the original good creation, and liberation from all of the dysfunctions of the fall. “For behold, I create a new heavens and a new earth, and the former things shall not be remembered or come into mind. But be glad and rejoice forever in that which I create; for behold, I create Jerusalem to be a joy, and her people to be a gladness. I will rejoice in Jerusalem and be glad in my people; no more shall be heard in it the sound of weeping and the cry of distress” (Isaiah 65:17-19). 

It is very normal for us to give something to the Lord and then take it back and keep being anxious about it.  Our sanctification can be seen when each time we grab it back, we more quickly hand it back to the Lord. 

A teenage boy came to me with questions about his faith. He’d attended church all his life but now had some doubts. I assured him that even the writers of the Bible sometimes struggled. He wasn’t questioning any basic Christian beliefs, and he didn’t need six evidences for Christ’s resurrection, so I talked to him about holiness and happiness.

Randy had a Zoom Q&A Meeting with Baylor University students who read The Treasure Principle as a class.

I get excited about reaching people of every tribe and nation and language, and while we don’t have resources in every language, of course, we have something to offer in an increasing number, which is very encouraging!

People choose Hell when they turn their backs on God. He gave us the gift of choice, to choose to know and love Him. To Him, that was worth creating us, and even sending His Son to die for us so that we could eternally know Him and be with Him forever. That is the very opposite of selfish.
