To make one English version THE version by which to compare all other versions is an error in thinking.

We are not always great at talking to God, at least I’m not, but I think we are even worse at listening to God. Of course, if we think we can’t hear God’s voice, at least in the figurative sense, why would we listen?

It is talking about the present Heaven, apparently, since the New Earth comes on the scene after the final judgment, and Revelation isn’t about the New Earth until Revelation 21-22. However, some aspects of the present Heaven may be shared by the future post-resurrection Heaven.

God is the Father of this family we enjoy. We rightly sense that our relationship with them has not been terminated, only interrupted, and we know that some day each of us will be taken from this world, in one moment separated from some we love and in the same moment reunited with others we love, and above all with our Lord.

.....obedience comes out of desire to please a God we love, not the opposite where our obedience is somehow pleasing to God so now He can love us.

Jesus described heaven as having many rooms or dwellings (John 14:2-3). Like earthly cities or countries, heaven includes individual dwelling places.

I studied verse 10 and clearly, whatever is being spoken of in verse 9 is also being spoken of as being revealed to us by the Spirit in verse 10. I also went to the beginning of the passage....
