Given the substantial evidence of Scripture to the contrary, the burden of proof is on those who argue people in heaven are unconcerned with and unaware of what is happening on earth. Does Scripture really teach this? Where?

Jesus told the dying thief on the cross, "Today you will be with me in paradise" (Luke 23:43). The apostle Paul said that to die was to be with Christ (Philippians 1:23), and to be absent from the body was to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8).

Throughout Scripture we read that animals praise God. I don't know exactly how animals praise God, but our inability to understand it shouldn't keep us from believing it.

Like a bride's dreams of sharing a home with her groom, our love for heaven should be overflowing and contagious, just like our love for God. 

Heaven today has largely fallen off our radar screens. If we are honest, we must admit that we are not daily and consciously looking forward to Heaven, much less to a New Earth.

Yes, people in Heaven have some idea of what’s going on here. They may not know or pay attention to everything that’s happening (like the time you slipped ice into your brother’s pillowcase). But the martyrs in Revelation 6 knew that God hadn’t yet brought judgment on those who killed them, so it’s likely that they knew many other things about what’s happening on earth.

The Bible teaches that our eternal home will be a place we’ve already been—earth. It will be a New Earth, a transformed earth.

The New Testament reflects much more specific revelation from God of the afterlife. Yet there are some strong Old Testament indicators, though not nearly as many.

I’m not familiar with that as a Mormon belief. However, I have had upset people tell me “But Mormons and Jehovah’s Witnesses believe in the New Earth.” 

Part of what we need to ask ourselves is why we would assume that we would not do many of the same things.
