I was recently given a copy of Does the Birth Control Pill cause Abortions? I was trained in the 1980s and believed that the pill worked by preventing ovulation. After a month of study and prayer, I have decided to stop prescribing all forms of hormonal contraception.

Pastor, seminary professor, speaker, and writer Randy Alcorn has written a monumental opus on Heaven, humbly titled Heaven. I often have taught that our views of Heaven are too heavenly and not earthy enough. Alcorn’s entire book communicates the same message. His theme is continuity—all that is beautiful about life on Earth continues in the New Heaven and the New Earth. All that is horrible about life on Earth is healed in the New Heaven and the New Earth.

I never realized how difficult and time-consuming it is to write a book until I started working for Randy many years ago. Observing the numerous stages of a book before it goes to print has given me a new appreciation for the work of an author. 

I know this book was fiction, but far too close to the real thing. I have been in Hong Kong several times. There are posters and ads displayed trying to awake us to the horrible things going on in China in order to have organs for trade. Seeing them makes me think of Safely Home. And it makes me very grateful to live where I still have some freedom to try to live by faith. And it makes me pray for the persecuted. — R. T.

The Purity Principle is this: Purity is always smart; impurity is always stupid.

If you have questions about Heaven, this is a great way to answer some of them. This book is very easy to read, plain spoken, and easy to understand.

It is very possible that many Christians do not even recognize the hold that materialism has upon their lives. Alcorn’s work helps us to see just how devastatingly attached we are to our things, and how sadly we miss the joys of giving. — T. P.

The Bible actually has quite a lot to say about Heaven. Randy Alcorn’s 50 Days of Heaven presents us with an easy but profound read that takes away much of the mystery about life after death.

The Ishbane Conspiracy is a great book for Christian teenagers. The topics, though mature, are completely plausible. Your eyes will be opened to the different evils of the world as the characters experience them.
