Death is a relocation of the same person from one place to another. The place changes, but the person remains the same. 

My favorite Christmas song is “Joy to the World,” because as my wife Nanci pointed out to me years ago, it’s the Christmas song that looks forward to Christ’s return and the New Earth.

Having an eternal perspective is in so many ways the key to living out a true Christ-following life. 

My point in this blog is not to put anyone in distress or have them second guess past decisions. Rather, this is only for those who are interested and are thinking about future decisions.

Question from a reader: My wife died two months ago and I’ve heard a preacher say that when you die “you don’t go home alone”, and that two angels go with you. What does the Bible say about this?

In the world to come, will we experience rainfall and snowfall? Some have never thought about it, because they don’t think of Heaven as a real place or don't understand the doctrine of the New Earth, where we’ll live as resurrected people. 

Our churches and communities, our nation and our world, are filled with grieving people—numb, broken, bitter or simply exhausted.
