Even though I believe we’ll live in time in Heaven, God is certainly capable of bending time and opening doors in time’s fabric for us. 

I think of our lives in terms of a dot and a line, signifying two phases. Our present life on earth is the dot. It begins. It ends. It’s brief. 

As yet, you may not have tasted your favorite meal—and if you have, it didn’t taste as good as it will there.

Thank you for the Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Heaven book. I've always longed for eternity, but everything I was told made it seem so boring and pointless. This book was a GOLD MINE of information. I long for eternity with the Lord even more, of course, but now I know that it will be an exciting and fulfilling existence. —E.K.

God tells us about Heaven in His Word, not so we can shrug our shoulders and remain ignorant, but because He wants us to understand and anticipate what awaits us. We should accept that many things about Heaven are secret and that God has countless surprises in store for us. But the things God has revealed to us about Heaven belong to us and to our children. It’s critically important that we discuss and understand them.

I would encourage you to talk to your husband again in a respectful, humble, gracious way and simply share your heart with him. Ask him how he would like you to respond to your kids when they ask questions.

The expression YOLO, “you only live once," rightly recognizes you will die, but assumes that you will never live again after you die. The Good News is radically different.

If Christian parents remind their Christian children that the worst that can happen in death is temporary separation, it’s reassuring. 

On the one hand, because we’re told in multiple passages that our resurrection bodies will be like Christ’s, it may be possible at times for us to transcend the present laws of physics and/or travel in some way we’re not now capable of. 

Many maintain that those in Heaven cannot be aware of people and events on Earth because they would be made unhappy by all the suffering and evil; thus, Heaven would not truly be Heaven. 

Revelation 7:10 says, “They cried out in a loud voice.” This singular “voice” implies a shared language. 

A sincere young man told me that no matter what I might say, Heaven must be boring. Why? “Because you can’t appreciate good without bad, light without darkness, or safety without danger. If Heaven is safe, if there’s no risk, it has to be boring.”  

When five-year-old Emily Kimball was hospitalized and heard she was going to die, she started to cry. Even though she loved Jesus and wanted to be with him, she didn’t want to leave her family behind.
