Luis Palau is an international Christian evangelist and the founder of the Luis Palau Evangelical Association, a wonderful ministry that EPM has supported. Joined by his sons Andrew and Kevin, Luis made a video announcing that he’s been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. 

In a recent episode of his podcast, Russell Moore discussed the question, “What Should You Say at an Unbeliever’s Funeral?” He gave a helpful answer for both those who attend such funerals, and those who conduct them.

Question from a reader: You make the case that those now in Heaven may be able to see what’s presently happening on earth, at least to some extent. Since those with the Lord are not omnipresent, what do you think determines what they see? Do they just observe things that God points out to them? Or things of specific interest to them? Do they have ability to observe whatever they want, including really bad and evil things?

Though as believers we know that Heaven awaits us after death, many of us still wonder about or fear the moment of death. What will it be like? Will it be frightening to experience the soul’s departure from the body?

People look to pastors for guidance, help, and perspective during difficult times of life.

On the one hand, the Bible calls death “the last enemy” (1 Corinthians 15:26). On the other hand, for the person whose faith and actions have prepared him for it, death is a deliverer, casting off the burdens of a hostile world and ushering him into the world for which he was made.
