Question from a reader:
Based on Luke 16:19-31, the story of the rich man and Lazarus, will those in Hell be able to see beyond the chasm? (In verse 26, Abraham tells the rich man, “Between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, in order that those who would pass from here to you may not be able, and none may cross from there to us.”)
Answer from Randy Alcorn:
Since Luke 16 references the present Heaven before Christ’s resurrection, it’s hard to say whether that set up exists currently, but I do think that the eternal structure of Heaven and Hell will be completely different. The Lake of Fire seems to be absolutely separated from the new heavens and New Earth, with no indication of anything visual to connect them.
