Jesús dijo que las personas resucitadas no se casarán (Mateo 22:30). Sin embargo, la Biblia deja claro que habrá matrimonio en el Cielo. Habrá un matrimonio, entre Cristo y su esposa.
Anhelamos un matrimonio perfecto. Eso es exactamente lo que tendremos—un matrimonio perfecto con Cristo.
Mi esposa Nanci es mi mejor amiga y mi hermana en Cristo más cercana. Acaso le diré cuando la vea en el Cielo “¿Eras tú mi esposa? ¿Tuvimos hijos? ¿Piensas que ellos me recordarán?” La idea de que no recordaremos nuestras relaciones terrenales es absurda. Sugiere que nuestra vida diaria terrenal y las relaciones no tienen consecuencias eternas, mientras que la Biblia nos enseña lo contrario.
Jesús dijo que la institución del matrimonio humano terminaría, habiendo cumplido su propósito de anticipar y reflejar el matrimonio de Cristo y su esposa (Efesios 5:23-32). Pero nunca dijo o implicó que las relaciones profundas construidas entre las personas casadas terminarían. De hecho, Nanci y yo nos regocijamos que ambos seremos parte del matrimonio perfecto con Cristo. Dios es nuestro padre, nosotros somos sus hijos, y somos hermanos y hermanas de los otros. Somos la esposa de Cristo y Él es nuestro esposo.
Por lo tanto, tendremos matrimonio y familia en el cielo. Los que están más cerca de nosotros en la Tierra—incluyendo en muchos casos nuestra familia terrenal—naturalmente serán las relaciones principales con las que comenzaremos en el Cielo. El Cielo es el lugar en que estará nuestra familia y nuestros mejores amigos estarán—inlcuyendo muchos a los que todavía no conocemos. Nuestra relación con nuestros seres queridos será mejor que nunca. El Cielo es un lugar de ganancia, no de pérdida. Will There Be Marriage and Family in Heaven?

Jesus said that resurrected people would not be married (Matthew 22:30). Yet Scripture makes it clear that there will be marriage in Heaven. There will be one marriage, between Christ and his bride.
We long for a perfect marriage. That’s exactly what we’ll have—a perfect marriage with Christ.
My wife, Nanci, is my best friend and my closest sister in Christ. When I see her in Heaven, will I say, “Did you used to be my wife? Didn’t we have children? Think they’ll remember me?” The notion that we would not remember our closest earthly relationships is absurd. It suggests our daily earthly lives and relationships are of no eternal consequence, while Scripture teaches the opposite. Jesus said the institution of human marriage would end, having fulfilled its purpose to anticipate and reflect the marriage of Christ and his bride (Ephesians 5:23-32). But he did not say or imply that the deep relationships built between married couples would end. In fact, Nanci and I rejoice that we will together be part of a perfect marriage to Christ.
God is our father, we are his children, and we are each other’s brothers and sisters. We are Christ’s bride, and he is our husband.
So we will have marriage and family in Heaven. Those to whom we’re closest on Earth—including in many cases our earthly family—will naturally comprise the core relationships we’ll begin with in Heaven. (We’ll bring to Heaven our memories, and those memories connect us to people.) From there we will work outward, developing new friendships without ever losing the old ones.
Heaven is where our ultimate family and best friends will be—including many we don’t know yet. Our relationships with loved ones will be better than ever. Heaven is a place of gain, not loss. (In fact, you may not yet have met the best friend you’ll ever have!)
