Can EPM Provide Counseling Services or Recommend a Counselor Near Me?

EPM is a small ministry, and our work is to share the Good News of Jesus with as many people as possible through Randy’s writing and through supporting other worthy ministries. We are not a counseling ministry and are unable to provide counseling services. (We do hope the many resources on our website, including on grief, will offer you hope and truth as you continue your search for healing.)

We encourage you to start by talking to your local pastor or Christian mentor. Randy Alcorn believes in the importance of the local church. And a church leader—ideally someone who knows you personally—can come alongside you and offer wisdom and help and prayer. (They might also have counselor recommendations.)

You may need counseling help beyond what your church leader can offer. While we aren’t able to provide recommendations for a counselor in your specific location, here are some resources to get you started.

In the Portland, Oregon metro area:

A New Day Counseling (associated with Western Seminary)

River Ridge Counseling

Kristin Silva Linder, Biblical Counselor

Lacamas Counseling

In other locations:

Focus on the Family: Counseling Consultation and Referrals (“The consultation is available at no cost to you due to generous donor support and will be with one of our licensed or pastoral counseling specialists.”)

You can also search for a counselor in your area through Focus on the Family’s Christian Counselor Network.

Biblical Counseling Network (Association of Biblical Counselors)

KLOVE: Speak with a pastor

Fieldstone Counseling (Offers worldwide remote counseling options and some scholarships)

Help for pastors and church leaders:

Pastor Care Line (Support line for pastors/church leaders and their families)
