Randy Alcorn

A reader of my book Heaven sent us this feedback: "You wrote, 'And all of us, like Adam and Eve, are sinners.' I assume you were referring to the unsaved as sinners, not those who are followers of Jesus Christ."

Randy had a video call with Becky York and many staff members from Water Mission. They talked about the multi-faceted benefits of giving. Randy shared some insights and advice about providing supporters with opportunities to give.

Randy gave a baccalaureate message to the 2024 graduates of Sam Barlow High School, including one of his grandsons. Randy also graduated from Barlow in 1972.

Over the last two and a half years of grief since Nanci died, I have been sensing deeply the friendship of Jesus. What could be better than for Him to not only love us so much that He would die for us, but to actually call us His friends, and not just servants? 

This is a blast from the past, at least for those of us old enough to remember Dallas Holm and Praise, and his 1977 mega-hit “I Will Rise Again.” I have listened to it multiple times recently, and it takes me back to a crucial time in my life.

In this clip from his conversation with Matt Mancinelli from Generous Giving, Randy answers the question: How do you manage the tension between caring for your family’s needs and giving generously?  Randy says that he realized early on “my biggest responsibility to my children is not to leave them an inheritance but to leave them a heritage.” 

In 2022, Randy spoke on a Zoom call with Matt Mancinelli and a group from Generous Giving. He shared about his grief since the recent loss of his wife Nanci, as well as insights regarding inheritances and giving money to children.  

Sufferers commonly ask, “Why me? Why not someone else? Why haven’t my friends lost a child or their husband? Why can they walk and ride bikes while I’m in a wheelchair? Why have you treated me differently, God?”
