In Matthew 5:29, Jesus says: “If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of the parts of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.” Jesus is using hyperbole to emphasize how seriously we need to take our sin.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your loved one. I completely understand how you feel and absolutely know what it feels like myself to feel dismissed in my moment of pain by what others say and share.

I know that it can feel like other couples and families are too busy for you, but you really need to be with people right now. I encourage you to fight through the feelings that your Christian friends have their own lives. This is what the Christian community is supposed to do for each other.

It is very normal for us to give something to the Lord and then take it back and keep being anxious about it.  Our sanctification can be seen when each time we grab it back, we more quickly hand it back to the Lord.
