Have we forgotten that all
Christ's disciples are committed to using their money and
possessions to further the kingdom cause? Have we distanced
ourselves so far from the battlefield that our peacetime lifestyles
have left us comfortable and complacent, unfit for battle
and oblivious to the battle's eternal stakes?
I
seek at the beginning to get my heart into such a state that it
has no will of its own in regard to a given matter. Nine-tenths
of the difficulties are overcome when our hearts are ready to do
the Lord's will, whatever it may be.
God
is an author. The universe itself is his book. Each person is a sentence,
paragraph or page. History really is His story. Christ is the Word,
the very essence of God, and expression of God. We are created in
God's image, and made to be what Tolkien called sub-creators, authors
who create and weave together both nonfiction and fiction, marvelous
stories on which our imaginations can soar.

Can it really be Christian and God-honoring
to write "Christian" fiction? By Randy
Alcorn
The
history of Christian fiction is very big, very prominent. Take Pilgrim's
Progress (1670s), a work of fiction. For a long time, people
said it was the second-best selling book of all time. Besides the
Bible itself, it is arguably one of the most influential books of
all time, and it's a work of fiction, an allegory.

month were giving away Randys murder mystery novel Deception
