FICTION
BOOK INDEX |
Deadline is the story of a politically correct journalist
forced by tragic and mysterious circumstances to come to terms
with his own mortality. In the process he must also deal with
the consequences of his skewed perspectives on life, family,
morality, and religion. Intended for believers and
unbelievers.
Deadline portrays friendship, family, faith, morality,
social decline and media bias in the context of an
unpredictable and hopeful story of personal crisis and change.
The second story line, on death's other side, compliments the
who-done-it mystery. Deadline is a unique pro-family,
pro-values, pro-life, pro-faith book. It portrays the vital
connection between how we think and live in the present, and
how that will inevitably impact our future, both on earth and
in eternity. |

I just finished Deadline. Excellent! I have not been excited about going to Heaven before reading this book. I thought it would be boring. As I get to know God more, I can see I would never know Him completely. I hate "doing nothing," and thought that was what Heaven would be like. Now my imagination has been broadened. This book also helped me realize how much God loves me-an individual person He made. It is a cliff-hanger and kept me up way too late reading it. Thanks for such a great work of fiction. - M. P. |

Stu Weber, author of Tender
Warrior and Locking Arms, says this of Deadline: "Randy Alcorn
has hit it out of the park. Deadline is riveting. Motivating.
Intriguing. Provocative. And it's for mystery lovers, too.
Many books feed the mind. Some feed the heart. Deadline
nourishes both. It's an exhilarating spiritual experience. I
have seldom read fiction strong enough to compel me to read it
twice. I'm giving away dozens of copies."
Frank Peretti, author of This Present Darkness,
Piercing the Darkness, The Prophet and The Oath, says: "Randy
Alcorn is a walking resource library guided by godly wisdom.
There should be no ignoring the vital message of this book."
